Epaulette

The epaulette is an ornamental shoulder piece on an item of clothing, especially on the coat or jacket of a military uniform:

As the General, Morbius wore a sky blue uniform with gold epaulettes. (PROSE: Warmonger)

Some Sontarans wore armour with epaulettes, such as Grand Marshal Stike. (TV: The Two Doctors)

Both sides of the Napoleonic War wore gold epaulettes, including Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte and Field Marshal Arthur Wellesley, the first Duke of Wellington. (AUDIO: The Curse of Davros; PROSE: H.M.S. Tardis)

Silurian commanders wore epaulettes on their crimson vests. (TV: Cold Blood; GAME: The Eternity Clock)
