I'm a huge fan of Doctor Who and I have been watching it ever since it re aired in 2005. I have loads of knowledge of Doctor Who mainly from 2005 onwards and its spin offs Torchwood and SJA. You can usually find me hanging around The Last of Us Wiki doing my thing there.

New Who rankings (2005-2022)
Series
The series are ranked according to their individual episodes and story quality. However, this goes beyond which ones simply have the most episodes in Tier 1 and Tier 2. The series each have their own arcs in terms of plot and character. Therefore, the series arcs and how the characters (principally the Doctor and their companions) grow or develop throughout also plays a significant part in how these series rank up. Furthermore, consistency within the series' episodes does play a factor, with series that contain more competently written and executed stories naturally outperforming series that lack these vital qualities.
As a final caveat, while some series lower in the list could be judged at face value as being bad for being placed so low, this is not an honest reflection of their quality. Every series has at least one episode in Tier 2 and every series with numerous episodes in Tier 1 and Tier 2 still have some low quality episodes placed in either Tier 4 and 5 and even then these episodes are a rarity. As such, every series has something worth watching within it.

Episodes
The episodes are ranked in sequence, with the top episode(s) in each tier being the best episode of that tier and, subsequently, the lowest episode is the weakest in the tier list. Therefore, for Series 2, The Girl in the Fireplace is the best episode of Series 2 as it is ranked at the top of Tier 1. This rule applies to every tier and every series ranking their respective episodes.

What the scores actually mean:
- Tier 1 = Closest thing to perfection
- Tier 2 = A must watch for fans, Whovian and casual a like
- Tier 3 = Decent standard with flaws but the good far outweighs the bad
- Tier 4 = Only hardcore fans will bother returning to it, a one-time view for all others
- Tier 5 = Poor quality, a pain to watch, the bad now equals the good, not worth watching, waste of time
