Pig slave

From Tardis Wiki, the free Doctor Who reference

The pig slaves, (TV: Daleks in Manhattan [+]Loading...["Daleks in Manhattan (TV story)"], Evolution of the Daleks [+]Loading...["Evolution of the Daleks (TV story)"]) also known as the Pigmen Hybrids, (GAME: Worlds Apart [+]Loading...["Worlds Apart (video game)"]) were genetically altered mutant human-pig hybrids. They were both the slaves and creations of the Cult of Skaro, following the Cult's emergency temporal shift to New York City in the early 20th century. As servants, the pig slaves were typically used for intense labour and strong-arm work. (TV: Daleks in Manhattan [+]Loading...["Daleks in Manhattan (TV story)"], Evolution of the Daleks [+]Loading...["Evolution of the Daleks (TV story)"]) One account suggested that Pigmen Hybrids were created as disposable servants by various factions, not just the Cult of Skaro. (GAME: Worlds Apart [+]Loading...["Worlds Apart (video game)"])

Biology

A typical Pigman Hybrid. (GAME: Worlds Apart [+]Loading...["Worlds Apart (video game)"])

Having been "created by splicing the genetic material of humans with that of pig-like or porcine beings", (GAME: Worlds Apart [+]Loading...["Worlds Apart (video game)"]) the pig slaves only lived for a few weeks and were humans before the Cult converted them into beasts to abduct more humans which were then used to capture more humans and so forth, had little bits of white porcine-like hair and couldn't talk, only squeal and grunt. History

The Time War-era Time Lords became aware of the Cult of Skaro's pig slaves through the Matrix's projections of the post-Time War universe, considering them less of a success than the Ogrons. (PROSE: Dalek Combat Training Manual [+]Loading...["Dalek Combat Training Manual (reference book)"])

When the pig slaves captured humans, the Daleks performed an intelligence scan on each of them. Humans of high intelligence were used for the "Final Experiment", while those of low intelligence were turned into the pig slaves. One individual, Laszlo, was only partially transformed. (TV: Daleks in Manhattan [+]Loading...["Daleks in Manhattan (TV story)"])

The slaves only lived for a few weeks (with the exception of Laszlo, as he was saved by the Tenth Doctor before the damage done by his transformation became terminal). They were several times stronger than the average adult human, being able to restrain a person with ease. They were also capable of biting through human flesh with their very sharp teeth — even slitting someone's throat with them proved easy (at least according to Laszlo's claim about them). They were killed with firearms when they charged at Hooverville and more were killed by Martha Jones, Frank, Tallulah, and Laszlo by using conductors positioned rightly for when the gamma strike struck. (TV: Evolution of the Daleks [+]Loading...["Evolution of the Daleks (TV story)"])

The play Pig Slaves in Manhattan later opened. (PROSE: Judge, Jury and Executioner [+]Loading...["Judge, Jury and Executioner (short story)"])

Undated events

One account suggested that Pigmen Hybrids were created on multiple occasions by different parties including "malevolent alien races" and "malevolent [human] scientists", with the Doctor encountering some on several occasions. (GAME: Worlds Apart [+]Loading...["Worlds Apart (video game)"])

The "genetically altered human pig hybrid" Brolls ran a black market emporium. (PROSE: Brolls [+]Loading...["Brolls (feature)"])

There was a pig slave cook in an alien market a group of humans visted and bought food off of (PROSE: And now for a story...) after travelling through the Time Fracture.
