Rufus was a colleague of Donna Noble who worked in Accounts. Donna fancied him. By March 2005, he intended to leave his job and move to Northampton.
At 9:30 pm on 4 March, Donna told Rufus about her feelings for him, and he laughed in her face. Donna subsequently got extremely drunk and, remembering nothing else of her night, returned home at 3 am the next morning missing one shoe.
