Frederick Abberline

Inspector Frederick Abberline worked for the Metropolitan Police Service in the late 19th century and investigated the Jack the Ripper murders in 1888.

The murders ended when Mac'atyde died on the other side of a portal. He never caught the killer but historians assumed that he had stopped them. (COMIC: Ripper's Curse [+]Loading...["Ripper's Curse (comic story)"])

He was a clockmaker before becoming a policeman but, by his own admission, he was never a very good one. (AUDIO: The Wax Princess [+]Loading...["The Wax Princess (audio story)"])

At some point that year, Madame Vastra killed and ate someone that she identified as Jack the Ripper. She instructed her maid Jenny Flint to send a telegram to the inspector, informing him that Jack the Ripper had claimed his last victim. He wanted to find Henry Gordon Jago and George Litefoot to help him in his investigations, but Percival Quick thought he was part of the search crew thinking they were criminals. Abberline also apprehended a man whom he identified as Jack the Ripper but kept it a secret because of his connections to the British Royal Family. Later, the Ripper escaped and Abberline approached Jago and Litefoot to help him find the murderer. (AUDIO: The Wax Princess [+]Loading...["The Wax Princess (audio story)"])
