The Cyberdyne was a vast computer system on the planet Goronos, an administrative base for the Slow Empire. The Cyberdyne was a huge pyramid that housed a virtual reality for any Empire citizens sent inside, tricking them into thinking they existed in normal, lives that required nothing more than simple yes/no decisions. The Cyberdyne's programming could not cope with the minds of the Eighth Doctor, Fitz Kreiner, and Anji Kapoor, their experiences turning their virtual realities into surreal nightmares before the computer broke down.

The Slow Empire itself has been formed by sending out lobotomized and "cyberdynically" controlled criminals to distant planets to set up transference engines. (PROSE: The Slow Empire)

Behind the scenes[[edit] | [edit source]]

Dave Stone's The Resurrection Event, published in the charity anthology Walking in Eternity, very pointedly draws parallels between the Cyberdyne and the Time Lord Matrix, even using the term "Cyberdynic" to describe the processes of the Matrix.
