History
In 5087, the Anglican Marines were engaged in a war on the planet Kastarion 3 against a seemingly-invisible enemy, the "Kastarions". A significant amount of Villengard technology was used in the conflict, including roving hospital units and landmines. The war had been raging for six months when the Doctor arrived on the planet and realised the Kastarions were non-existent, with the marines being manipulated into fighting the faux war by a Villengard algorithm for profit. In the 52nd century, a platoon of Marines serving under Colonel Manton were stationed on the asteroid Demon's Run. They constituted a part of the Kovarian Chapter, led by Madame Kovarian and were tasked with guarding Amy Pond and the baby Melody Pond. At the ensuing Battle of Demons Run the marines fell for the Eleventh Doctor's trap, leaving themselves defenceless against a platton of Judoon and a battalion of Silurian warriors. Members of the Marines fighting on Kastarion 3 included Mundy Flynn, John Francis Vater, Canterbury James Olliphant and Carson. They were led by the Bishop.
