"Zoe Costello", a minor character played by Julie Ann-Dean, explains that she is named after the Doctor Who character. Davies later used the surname "Costello" for Suzie Costello in Torchwood.

The Torchwood: Miracle Day episode End of the Road [+]Loading...["End of the Road (TV story)"] mentions the events of Mine All Mine and indicates the series to take place in the same world as Torchwood. When Esther Drummond, Charlotte Wills, and Rex Matheson are searching through historical documents to trace the lineages of the the Three Families through various surnames, Esther says, "Hey, remember the Vivaldi inheritance in 2004? Follow that same pathway, because it worked in the end."
