{{dead link}} is a template for indicating dead links, or links that no longer exist on the live internet and that have no archive. To use it, place {{dead link}} after the dead link or after the citation template (e.g. {{cite web}}) containing the dead link.

If you have checked the major archive sites and are more certain than not that no archive or alternative page exists, set the first unnamed parameter to any value, such as {{dead link|yes}} to indicate that a fix has been attempted and failed.

Pages with links where a fix has not been attempted are categorised into Category:Articles with potentially fixable dead external links. Pages where a fix has been attempted and failed are categorised into Category:Articles with permanently dead external links.
