Praetorian Prefect

In the Roman Empire, the Praetorian Prefect was the overall commander of the Praetorian Guard.

Marcus Cornelius Falco's father was killed as a supporter of the Praetorian Prefect Sejandus in the midst of Imperial power struggles while Marcus was just a boy.

In 43 AD, Lucius Geta was not yet the true Praetorian Prefect, only commanding eight cohorts of Praetorians, but he "hoped to get there" if he made a good enough impression with Emperor Claudius.
