Bodyshock was a proposed Virgin New Adventures novel pitched by Jim Mortimore and Andy Lane.

It was Lane and Mortimore's second pitch. Both had previously written short stories for Doctor Who fanzines, and after seeing the success of fellow fanzine contributor Paul Cornell with Timewyrm: Revelation [+]Loading...["Timewyrm: Revelation (novel)"], they began pitching novel proposals to series editor Peter Darvill-Evans. Bodyshock was their second proposal, as their first was initially rejected.

Ultimately, Darvill-Evans rejected Bodyshock because it was too weird. Instead, he commissioned their first proposal, Lucifer Rising [+]Loading...["Lucifer Rising (novel)"].[1]

Summary[[edit] | [edit source]]

The story would have begun with the Seventh Doctor and Ace waking up on an alien planet in the bodies of giant lobsters, separated from each other by millions of years.[1]
