The Burner Doctor was a version of the Doctor who existed in an alternative timeline. He served as the Lord Burner under President Romana. (AUDIO: Disassembled [+]Loading...["Disassembled (audio story)"])

Biography[[edit] | [edit source]]

The Lord Burner spoke about his personal history while deceiving the primary timeline version of Romana II. After Romana expressed approval for the ideology of the non-interventionists – who were, on this Gallifrey, a niche group – the Lord Burner claimed he had once traveled the universe attempting to undo the Time Lords’ interventions. Supposedly he did this under the name of the Doctor, though it was unclear if he recognised the name when Romana initially addressed him this way.

The Lord Burner allowed Romana to assume that he had been put on trial by the Time Lords. He later claimed that he was at imminent risk of being arrested for opposing the President's policies, which was completely false.

At some point far in his past, the Lord Burner killed his version of Braxiatel. He described the experience as "a moment of pleasure". The Lord Burner also attempted to kill the primary timeline version of Braxiatel when they met on the Axis. Braxiatel threw them both into a portal without any set coordinates, trapping them in the vortex between realities. Braxiatel eventually escaped the vortex, but the Lord Burner's fate remained unknown. (AUDIO: Disassembled [+]Loading...["Disassembled (audio story)"])

Behind the scenes[[edit] | [edit source]]

  • The idea for the Burner Doctor was to explore a Doctor who had been placed on trial by his people, as in The War Games, but with different results by Time Lords with very different values. (BFX: Gallifrey IV)
