Ian Stuart Black (born 21 March 1915, London, died 13 October 1997, Sidmouth, Devon[1]) wrote several Doctor Who television stories. Of the three serials Black wrote for the show, The War Machines is the only one to not be completely missing.
Life and Career[[edit] | [edit source]]
Though born in London, Black was “a Scot through and through.”[2] Before Doctor Who, he had served as a staff writer for The Rank Organisation, which was one of the biggest film companies of its time.[3]
