David Copperfield

David Copperfield was a novel by Charles Dickens. Clara Oswald's English class at Coal Hill School covered it during the year. (TV: Kill the Moon)

The novel's titular character has been played on screen by Ian McKellen, Robin Phillips, and David Yelland.

Simon Callow, who portrayed Copperfield's author Charles Dickens in the DWU, played a role in the 1986 television adaptation.

Other actors to appear in various screen adaptations include, but are not limited to Peter Capaldi, Dawn French, Paul Whitehouse, Zoë Wanamaker, and Brenda Bruce.
