Receptionist (Destination: Wedding) was "the face of" a complex multi-organism that drifted through the vortices of reality feeding on "the warping of possibilities." They referred to themselves in plural pronouns. Upon arriving on Earth in the Doctor's universe, they thought they would starve and fade away into "unfeasibility" until discovering the human race. They formed into a sentient wedding venue, and the Receptionist made contracts with people to give them the perfect wedding. In exchange, the client merely had to invite people they held grudges against. The organism would feed on those people, removing them from reality. Rani Chandra called them a "reality engine."
