The Thal rule of Skaro was a period of Skaroine history which occurred following the seeming death of the Daleks in the Thal-Dalek battle. (PROSE: The History of the Daleks [+]Loading...["The History of the Daleks (short story)"], et al.) During this period, the Daleks were mostly inactive, although some survived in the depths of the Dalek City (AUDIO: After the Daleks [+]Loading...["After the Daleks (audio story)"]) and the Daleks led by the Dalek Prime slowly gathered strength in the Kaled bunker. (PROSE: The History of the Daleks [+]Loading...["The History of the Daleks (short story)"])

By an account in which the Thal-Dalek battle was concurrent to the 2150s Dalek invasion of Earth, the Thals continued to live a frugal nomadic life after the Daleks were defeated. (AUDIO: The Curse of the Daleks [+]Loading...["The Curse of the Daleks (audio story)"])

By one account, the Thal rule lasted 500 years until the Dalek Prime's reclamation of Skaro, which began with the Thal evacuation of Skaro. The Thals left behind various technologies on Skaro, including the Thal deep-space telescopes which led to the Dalek discovery of Earth.
