This was originally proposed in Michael Downey's original thread on "5 things to look for".
- The Eleventh Hour: A red telephone box was prominently displayed on the green of Leadworth.
- The Beast Below: An identical red telephone box was seen in the background of the London market on Starship UK.
- Victory of the Daleks: No red phonebox. (If one had appeared, this would certainly be significant, because it would have been anachronistic.) However, of the 5 phones in the War Room, the red one was in the center, one of only two that ever rang or was used (the other being green). On the other hand, it was the green one, not the red, that people were twice shown (and heard) talking on in the foreground.
- The Time of Angels/Flesh and Stone: ?In the window of the museum, there is a red diagonal line. Could this be the phone box?

I might broaden this to RED overall. I noticed a lot of red in the series. At first i thought it was just some kind of art direction and maybe not intentional or symbolic. I can't believe this...This is so incredibly stupid...Haha..Are you guys serious? Haha...What happened? Did you have your brains lobotomized by the Daleks/Cybermen? hahaha...I am sorry, but I laughed so hard that I almost spitted out my stomach...You noticed two red telephone boxes in the entire Series and you believe it's a theme?!? I'm sure you see more instances of telephones, clocks, pictures, clothes, cars, paper, glasses, stones, humans, etc. Also, red is a theme because there were four instances with red in it?!? - Please don't insult other users. If that is all you are here to do, then please leave. Remember guys, River's lipstick and shoes were both red. Plus the red energy barrier created by the Silurians, including their blasters as well. The "Blood" of the Cybermen, blood being red, and in City of the Daleks, the Daleks seen are mostly the Drone Daleks, which are red. The Thirteenth Doctor 17:00, July 27, 2010 (UTC)
hahaha...Do women normally use blue lipsticks now...or do we usually purple energy barriers and blasters....Blood of the Cybermen had no blood...this is hilarious...I am sure all major colours blue, green, yellow, white and black have appeared very often in the series...There are people who actually agree with this? Well, I for one was picking up on Red thru out the season before I even knew there were "5 things" to look for. There seemed to be a theme about red and blue. With blue possibly representing the TARDIS or Doctor. And Amy wears a lot of red. The reds also tended to be be bright reds like the bright blue of the TARDIS. I guess since I am in the creative industry I pick up on things like this. Whether it was just for a look or more symbolic I cant say. But obviously more than one person noticed. You can disagree but there isnt any reason to be snide and insulting. This is just as plausible as people say Eyes were one of the 5 things. If you remember correctly, in the episode The Empty Child, purple is the color of danger (Purple alert). This episode was penned by Steven Moffat (it is also stated that red for danger is a human thing, the rest of the universe use purple). In the two-parter The Hungry Earth/Cold Blood, blue plants are planted to symbolize to keep out. So no, red phone box do not symbolize danger, they only represent England (which makes sense to make allusion to in The Beast Below along with the tube allusion). Why don't you go to other forums and start threads about your "5 things to look for: Doctor", "5 things to look for: Trees", "5 things to look for: Technology", "5 things to look for: Words", "5 things to look for: Sounds in General", "5 things to look for: Visual Stuff in General", "5 things to look for: Anything After the Opening and Before the Rolling Credit", "5 things to look for: Every Single Frame of the Show That is Not Blank Has Something in It", etc. A forum is suppose to discuss things and contribute to the greater knowledge...saying meaningless things with no thoughts is just borderline vadalism. --203.168.176.42 18:36, July 27, 2010 (UTC)

There were only two red telephone boxes in the entire series, it doesn't mean anything. It's to different to the fact that we see clocks a lot in, well, every series. They're just your typical every-day things. I saw a couple of red telephone boxes when I went out the other week - does this mean our world is connected to the Whoniverse? No. They're just British things. The first red telephone box appeared in Leadworth, which makes ense, that it in the UK. The second red telephone box appeared on Starship UK, which makes sense, as Starship UK holds lots of hints and references to the original UK (such as the Queen Elizabeth bloodline and the UK flag).
If there were loads of red telephone boxes seen throughout the series, and they appeared in very obscene places for them to be in (such as the if one appeared on the Byzantium spaceship, or in 16th century Venice) then we would need to be suspcious as to why they would keep appearing, and in bizzare places, no less. - well, considering that your "everyone" only includes you and Falcotron, and everyone else actually analyse it rationally, this may be much less insulting to the world than you think. Oh, and look at that, a red merry-go-around...this must be the villain, the Voice that tried to destroyed the TARDIS! Let's ignore the fact that most of the picture is made up of brown and gray and the characters are not even on the red merry-go-around and the fact that the blue in both photos stands out more than the red ....I am sure you will find more gray stuff in the series than red. Go "Blood of the Cybermen"! Go "Mighty Thinkin' Human-Oods"! Haha... Look! Union Jack in WWII UK! That must mean Omega is involved! Oh no! Stars in the space! This must be Rassilon's doing! I'm sure that's more rational than just:
- 1. Amy's house's rooms/missing parents
- 2. Doctor's awkwardness in Flesh and Stone
- 3. Belongings and things associated with the person doesn't get erased when the person is erased
- 4. Why Amelia insisted throughout her childhood that the Doctor is her friend when she have only met her once...and even dreamed about the Doctor when Prisoner Zero tried to impersonate her, despite barely knowing him
- 5. Why Prisoner Zero bloody knows where the Cracks come from and teased that the Doctor and the TARDIS doesn't know and also how PZ knows that the Pandorica will open

The discussion started out on another page which you'd know if you'd care to read the page through at all, which you obviously haven't, because 173.57.144.238 agrees. The other page began talking about the red phone boxes and telephones and we've developed it to look for more red things. River's shoes, for instance, are red. - I contributed to that thread...Red phonebox was rejected pretty much in the beginning for its stupidity. Red is just beyond stupid....and you're not making sense, people do normally wear red with black...I see tons of them on the street, just like how people normally wear red lipstick. Why don't you bloody go start opening threads about every single colour, a lot more colours will have appeared more prominently. You can invest your life in looking through 1 single series of Doctor Who, looking for every single colour...or you know what, you should start doing "List of Appearances - the colour white" and so on. People didn't comment because they think this thread doesn't discuss anything. Moreover, since you firmly believe that "red" is the thing to look for, how does it tie to the series ending? How are River's shoes being focused on? It isn't, you bloody focused on it because you have a brain that doesn't go far beyond a simple response system reacting upon seeing anything. If you were looking for eyes, would you say "the doctor has eyes, Amy has eyes"? Saying red is one of the themes is already the stupidest thing on earth, but saying mindless things like "there are red phone boxes within UK", "her lipstick is red", "1 of the five coloured Dalek models (which covered most colours) is red, and drones appear most often and the fact that it would be extremely odd to see more strategists/scientists/etc than drones is irrelevant", and of course the "RED ENERGY BEAM WHICH HAVE BLOODY APPEARED IN COUNTLESS SCI-FI'S AND MANY OTHER SHOWS THROUGHOUT HISTORY AND ONE OF THE ONLY TWO PROMINENTLY USED COLOUR TO DEPICT LASER ON TV WITH THE OTHER COLOUR GREEN BEING USED BY THE DOCTOR'S SONIC SCREWDRIVER"...If you really think you are making sense, I suggest you bury yourself -- you are just wasting time and Earth's resources. --203.168.176.42 04:25, July 29, 2010 (UTC)
