Nero Claudius Caesar Augustus Germanicus, born Lucius Domitius Ahenobarbus, also called Nero Claudius Drusus Germanicus, was the fifth Roman Emperor. The Doctor, Barbara Wright, Ian Chesterton, and Vicki encountered him in the year 64 AD. When the Doctor accidentally set fire to Nero's rejected plans for a new Rome, the Emperor was inspired to burn the old capital so his new city could be built as he was refused permission by the senate.
