Synopsis

The Doctor and Martha must find the legendary lost starship, the Infinite, before the evil Baltazar, scourge of the Galaxy, gets it.

Plot

The Doctor shows Martha the evil Baltazar and they foil his plan with a fungus on a spoon (the spoon contains a modified fungus which eats metal). He wants revenge on the Doctor for destroying his ship, and he will use the Infinite to get it. The Doctor and Martha meet Caw, Baltazar's parrot and he tells them to find the Infinite before Baltazar gets it. Little do they know that Baltazar is following them. The first trip is to a pirate ship on the oil haven planet Boukon, and they must get the directions to the next destination from the pirate Kaliko. She attempts to escape with the chip, but is mysteriously murdered. They get it and then go to Myarr, a war zone between the Mantasphids and the native humans. They sort out some political problems, but the chip carrier Meregrass is murdered mysteriously like Kaliko. They then go to Volag Nok, the ice cold prison planet. The Doctor is captured and sentenced to 2 billion years in prison. He discovers that the real governor is imprisoned and the fake governor, Gurney, had taken over the prison. The Doctor and the true governor escape, with Gurney escaping with the chip outside. As Gurney threatens Martha with a gun, Baltazar appears. Gurney shoots Caw, eventually killing Caw. Baltazar murders Gurney and takes his data chip. He reveals that he killed Kaliko and Meregrass to gain the chips. He seizes the Doctor and Martha and forces them to take him to the Infinite's location.
