This page is for the submission of backgrounds which appear underneath all pages on this wiki. Submissions are governed by rules set forth at Help:Background images. Please make sure you read that help file thoroughly before beginning your submissions. If you have questions about anything in that document, please ask them here.
Generally speaking, successful submissions will be either monochromatic (which doesn't necessarily mean a shade of black) or greyscale, and the majority of the image should be on the right side. Full colour seriously messes with the readability of text on the site.
Images will ideally be changed on a quarterly basis, with the addition of a special end-of-year holiday design. Please add your submissions to the appropriate section, below.
3Q 2011: Torchwood: Miracle Day
Please note that the current Miracle Day themed background is not meant to be the final design. The current pictorial design will likely remain throughout the next 9 weeks, at least. However, submissions done in a similar style are still very much welcomed.

- Wouldn't work cause the design is centered on the page. This means that the words of the design would compete with the words of articles. It's a nice effort, though. Also, it's 2.5 times too big. There's a strict 100kb limit on backgrounds. Please re-read help:background images.

2011: August/Sept
Because of the unexpected overlap between TW and DW, we've had to alter our plans slightly as to our schedule of backgrounds. From the 27th August until the end of Miracle Day, we will be featuring a design which has the current picture of Rex on the right, and some picture from series 6 of DW on the left. Please submit your ideas for the left side of the background, below.

Holiday 2011: the Doctor at Christmas
For the advent season until just after the new year, we'll be featuring something Christmassy involving any Doctor or companions. Note that we're not doing a Christmas theme out of a desire to squelch other religious celebrations, but just because there actually is a tradition of Christmas-themed episodes and comic stories.
