I'd just like to know, is it ever specifically stated on-screen that Mondas and Earth once orbited one another? I know they were near to each other, but THAT near? Could they have just been roughly the same distance from the sun? 82.2.136.93 12:21, August 17, 2011 (UTC)

No, for a while they orbited the sun on opposite sides, 180 degrees separated, a stable Lagrange point. Boblipton 14:00, August 17, 2011 (UTC)

If my memory (from 45 years ago) of The Tenth Planet is correct, it was explicitly stated that Mondas and Earth were hidden from each other because the Sun was always directly between them. --89.242.66.20 21:27, August 17, 2011 (UTC)

The novelization and the subtitles agree. So, either someone has rebooted the universe and you grew up with a time crack in your wall, or your memory is perfectly fine. --173.228.85.35 02:37, August 18, 2011 (UTC)
No crack in the wall but my mother said there was a crack in my head because I watched Doctor Who. As far as I know, though, she didn't say the same about my father, who also watched. -- (IP address may have changed but was 89.242.66.20 3 days ago) 89.240.247.37 13:15, August 20, 2011 (UTC)
Is Mondas stated to have been on the opposite side of the sun from Earth before its journey to the edge of space, or is this what happens when it returns in 1986? 82.2.136.93 16:55, August 20, 2011 (UTC)
It was certainly on the opposite side of the sun after its return. I think it was said to have been there before it left, too (ie, it returned not only to its original orbit but also to its original position relative to Earth) but I'm not certain of that. The Tenth Planet was aired 45 years ago, after all, and not repeated. It's a tribute to the show that I remember as much as I do. --89.241.74.197 21:53, August 20, 2011 (UTC)
