Lan was a Movellan serving under Commander Sharrel on the mission to Skaro. He was left to guard the Dalek commaned centre while the Fourth Doctor and Sharrel moved in. He was killed when a Dalek gave the order to kill any life forms came back. The Dalek then shot Lan before he could use his gun. (DW: Destiny of the Daleks)
