Manners
Cursing while calling someone out for their "manners" while reverting an edit? I think the one with the problem here is you. Witoki 22:34, May 30, 2011 (UTC)
He was cursed at because my edit was simply flat reverted without a stated reason. Such arrogance of removing decent edits without a good given stated reason is bad form, and will successfully wind people up. Blightsoot 22:46, May 30, 2011 (UTC)
- It's a wiki, open to everyone. Reverts frequently happen without reasons/summaries given. While yes, obviously everyone should say why an edit is reverted, it's not always going to happen. Cursing out someone for doing so isn't going to make it any better. Please refrain from doing that in edits in the future; if you have an issue with someone, discuss it civilly on their Talk page. Thanks. Witoki 22:50, May 30, 2011 (UTC)
- I'll do as I please. If you don't like it, I couldn't care less. No you won't get a summary all the time - this is how we're in this situation. An assumption that because my edit count is low that I know nothing about Wiki's. It's a great excuse to be lazy so arrogant editors can go around simply reverting "no-brainer" additions to articles without looking at it or giving a good reason. It's amateur hour for wiki-wannabee's if I'm being honest. I mean take the non-canon that's spewed around the vast majority of articles - the place is a joke. But if you don't want help from new people that's fine - I'll disappear back to en:wiki and you can carry on the pervasive challenge of chasing away new people in the most condescending ways possible. As per above
I was asked to step in one this situation and I am glad I have. We want you to edit here, remember that. Everyone has thier edits revert without reason, and what most people do is, not swear, but go and find out why.
What you should have done is found out who undid your edits and went to thier talk page and left a polite message to find out why. Manners cost nothing. At no poit did anyone assume thatbecause you had a low edit count you knew nothing about wiki's. All you need to remember is that all wiki's are different, and you should spend sometime reading through out Manual of Style to learn how we operate.
Adding to what I said eariler, swearing can be seen as you being angry and admins can block you for 2 hours to give you a "cooldown period" in which you are given time to calm down and refelct upon your actions.
As for winding people up, I don't want to sound mean when I say this, but you sometimes just need to get over it. I have had edits revert time and time again, and I just got over, every Users has. I would suggest you continue to edit on this wiki and if your still unsatified at what's happen you contact and admin to sort it out. Mini-mitch\talk 10:17, May 31, 2011 (UTC)
