How I Became a Whovian[[edit] | [edit source]]

Having been a Star Wars fan for a long time, I never payed much attention to what Doctor Who was. In 2007 I have seen Doctor Who on sale via iTunes. It was the animated story, "The Infinite Quest." I'll I knew was there was a man in a suit and coat and there was a women wearing a red coat standing with him. Later I would see that they were the Doctor and Martha Jones. I've looked up what the show was on Wikipedia and learned that it was the longest running science fiction series on television. That was all I learned beforehand.

In July 2010 I was searching the Directv guide seeing what was on. BBC America (Yes I'm American) was highlighted and Doctor Who was on. I read the info and the episode was "Daleks in Manhatten". The word "Manhatten" caught my interest and I watched it. The first thing I saw in the show was a Dalek talking to a man in a black suit on top of the Empire State Building. The Dalek suddenly caught my attention and I thought to myself What is that thing? I looked it up on Wikipedia and saw it was a Dalek. Thanks to them I became interested in Doctor Who because the Daleks had reminded me of R2-D2, an evil cousin of R2. I was also introduced to the Tenth Doctor, who I didn't realize it was a tenth incarnation, and I wondered who he was. Then I started watching random clips of Matt Smith's Doctor and I suddenly became interested in Doctor Who, my new favorite TV show.
