Alan Ellis was the son of John Ellis. He was devastated when his father disappeared, having been torn through the Rift. He married and had children, all of whom died. He began to suffer Alzheimer's disease and was admitted to hospital. John visited him and he remembered some snippets of his childhood. (TW: Out of Time)
