Klien is the leader of a couple of soldiers encountered by the Doctor, Donna Noble and Martha Jones on the planet Messaline where he is fighting against the Hath. In Doctor Who Magazine 395 he reveals that both his father and grandfather fought the Hath. In the trailer he is seen kissing Jenny, the Doctor's daughter, through the bars of a prison cell.
