Action Comics Issue 1 was among the pile of "the best" of the Twelfth Doctor's comic book collection that he gave to Maxwell Collins as a parting gift.
The cover depicted Superman lifting a car over his head. (COMIC: Doorway to Hell)
Behind the scenes[[edit] | [edit source]]
The cover artwork depicted is unmistakably that of the first issue of DC's Action Comics. It is of particular historical significance for not only being the first issue of this long-running series, but for also containing the first appearance of Superman. Today it is well-known for achieving high numbers at auctions, often selling for over $3 Million[1]. Because of this, the comic appearing without commentary is something of a trope in modern time-travel fiction.
