The Amarylls were the benevolent vegetable inhabitants of Alvega. They had a collective consciousness ruled by the Controller. They looked like giant red flowers and could spray seeds which would spontaneously grow on enemies and choke them.
When the Daleks attempted to conquer the planet, the Controller ordered the Amarylls to fight back. Eventually, when only one Dalek was left, it destroyed the Controller, causing the planet to explode and destroying the Amarylls. (COMIC: The Amaryll Challenge)
