In the autumn of 1870, Abraham White was a travelling salesman there, unloading Gideon Bibles on the locals. One night, the Pariah landed near White and merged with him, forming a new and more powerful gestalt being. This act in the Arkansas countryside gave rise to the Threshold. (COMIC: Wormwood)
