Arthur Machen estate

From Tardis Wiki, the free Doctor Who reference

The Arthur Machen estate, often shortened to Machen estate, was a council estate in Cardiff. It was comprised of five four-storey housing blocks made of white and brown brick, named Pan House, Pyramid House, Bowmen House, Jade House and Sangraal House. In the middle was an abandoned cottage pub named the Red Hand. Each of these names were taken from the literary works of Arthur Machen.

The Machen estate was a notoriously rough area, and Gwen Cooper once said that you had to "watch your back" around there. This especially applied to police officers. The estate was also a no-go area for social workers.

The estate was home to a gang of drug-dealing teenagers, as well as Pam Feerce and her baby. In 2009, Rhett Seyers was sliced in two with an alien heat-gun in the car park of the nearby Happy Price supermarket. (PROSE: The Wrong Hands)
