Baugnez was an area in the Ardennes region of Belgium.
During the Battle of the Bulge in World War II, German forces of the 1st SS Panzer Division under SS-Standartenführer Jochen Peiper and Major Poetchke rounded up their American prisoners of war at Baugnez crossroads, including Red Cross medical personnel. Poetchke had them all shot and killed. (PROSE: Autumn Mist)
