Bernard Helmann was a philosophy tutor at Oxford University. He participated in the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament march in 1960.
He had accompanied some of his students to the march and hoped for some lively debate. He befriended the Third Doctor during the march. (PROSE: Come Friendly Bombs...)
