Category talk:Non-DWU Doctors

Discussion page

Should the Morbius Doctors and The Doctor (The Infinity Doctors) really be here? Surely they're not non-canonical, we're just not sure who they are or where they come in the Doctor's timeline. And surely Dr. Who (Land of Fiction) is canonical, but not a Doctor at all.--The Traveller 00:39, 25 April 2009 (UTC)

I created the category for incarnations of the Doctor other than the big ten (or nine at the time), i.e. Doctors not belonging to the "hypercanon".
(hypercanon meaning things non-fans would know. like the Doctor used to wear a scarf, travels in the TARDIS. the very basic stuff.) basically, I couldn't think of a better category title.
yes, a number of these don't technically count as non-canonical. I think that Dr. Who (the Land of Fiction one, not the Peter Cushing one) counts as a non-canon incarnation of the Doctor, in that he almost but not quite counts. i.e. exists in professional fiction, not fan fiction, but never has or will appear on television.--Stardizzy2 01:23, 25 April 2009 (UTC)
No they shouldn't, they are part of canon. The Morbius and Infinity Doctors Doctor should just be in the Category:Incarnations of the Doctor. Dr. Who (Land of Fiction) should just be in the Land of Fiction characters category. I've changed Morbius and Infinity Doctors accordingly.
