- Reversible DVD sleeves enabled the collector to display one of two designs featuring either the Doctor and his enemies or his companions.

- The Master, an old enemy of the Doctor, arrives on Earth. The renegade Time Lord has allied himself with the alien Nestene Consciousness and plans to destroy the human race with a deadly new line of plastic products. When people start dying at the hands of Auton dummies and killer dolls, UNIT is called in to investigate. Can the Doctor and his new assistant Jo Grant prevent the Master and the Nestene Consciousness from killing everyone on Earth?

- Yellow Fever was an unmade television story of the cancelled season by Robert Holmes that would have featured the Sixth Doctor, the Rani and the Master and the Nestene Consciousness in Singapore.
- Isolus travelled in groups of approximately four million.
- Celebrated achievements of Kroagnon ("the Great Architect") included Paradise Towers, Golden Dream Park, the Bridge of Perpetual Motion, and Miracle City.
- The theatre scenes in Evolution of the Daleks were filmed at the Parc & Dare Theatre in Treorchy, Wales.
