By the end of Logopolis, Tom Baker's Fourth Doctor had become so morose he had actually turned into a floating ball of burgandy wool. The Monitor tells the Doctor that Logopolis is dying, only for the Doctor to interrupt with a flippant "Oh boo hoo!" before saying that everyone is dying when you think about it.
