The human Edwin Bracewell had a father.
The Bracewell family lived in Paisley, Scotland, and ran a post office. At some point, he and Bracewell's mother both died of scarlet fever, which cause the young Bracewell great pain. (TV: Victory of the Daleks [+]Loading...["Victory of the Daleks (TV story)"])

As an android with his human counterpart's memories, Bracewell recalled his parents. In order to prevent the Oblivion Continuum within him from detonating, the Eleventh Doctor mentioned Bracewell's parents to him to remind him of his humanity. (TV: Victory of the Daleks [+]Loading...["Victory of the Daleks (TV story)"])

Whether Bracewell's parents were real individuals or false memories created by the Daleks was initially unconfirmed. Doctor Who: The Encyclopedia [+]Loading...["Doctor Who: The Encyclopedia (reference book)"] later stated that the human Bracewell did exist "at some point".
