The Egg of Abundance was a device that held the genetic template of Zantor.
When Zantor was destroyed by a Garvak named Abel Crumpton, the Egg was all that was left of the Zantorans, except for Lettice Butts and Radcliff. Their plan was to use the Egg to seed a new planet.
Crumpton stole the Egg, and planned to use it to turn Earth into a Garvak empire, but it was recovered by Harry Sullivan, Lettice and Radcliff. Lettice and Radcliff took the Egg with them and left Earth, intending to use the Egg. (PROSE: The Man from DOCTO(R))
