Elsie Jarman was the wife of Commodore William Jarman of the Royal Navy. She was killed in the early stages of World War II in an air raid by the German Luftwaffe. Her body was never found.
Elsie's death shattered her husband. Combined with humiliation in his career, Commodore Jarman suffered a breakdown in late May 1940. He openly mutinied against Vice-Admiral Bertram Ramsay while the latter attempted to organise Operation Dynamo and fend of the Nemonites. (AUDIO: The Nemonite Invasion)
