The Gibwyn was a creature created by the Voodoo priest Cronker on the planet Medattia. It was created using a genetic bonding device from the two young lovers of the Wynal and Gibble tribes, in an attempt to stop the two tribes mixing. The "Gibwyn" idea was sold to the tribes by Cronker as an angry creature and a warning to both tribes about mixing and also responsible for the disappearance of two lovers. The true nature of the Gibwyn was exposed by the Eleventh Doctor who successfully managed to separate and restore the two lovers who shortly afterwards married with the blessing of both tribes.
