Gin-Seng

From Tardis Wiki, the free Doctor Who reference

Gin-Seng was an area of Gallifrey home to the Killer Cats of Gin-Seng. (AUDIO: Erasure) Thessalia knew that the southern mountains beyond the chapterhouse of House Ixion were home to feral cats. (PROSE: The Return of the King)

The Killer Cats' uprising against the Time Lords (AUDIO: Erasure) was known by the Fifth Doctor as the Crisis of Gin-Seng. (AUDIO: The Last Fairy Tale)

Behind the scenes[[edit] | [edit source]]

  • While the concept of Killer Cats living in a separate region of Gallifrey than the Time Lords originates from the unproduced story Killers of the Dark, the name "Gin-Seng" does not. While describing the unmade story at a convention, Graham Williams forgot the story's name, saying it was "The Killer Cats of... something" then substituting "Ginseng" for the noun he couldn't remember. The title of the story was thenceforth misreported in the fan press as The Killer Cats of Geng Singh. (INFO: The Invasion of Time) The spelling "Gin-Seng" was used in PROSE: Invasion of the Cat-People and the script of AUDIO: The Last Fairy Tale.
