Creating the page

Series 13 has already been confirmed in the works and is helmed by Chris Chibnall as stated by Radio Times. https://www.radiotimes.com/news/tv/2019-11-21/doctor-who-series-13-happening/

Is it fair game to create the page at this point, given that it's already announced? --DCLM 00:20, November 22, 2019 (UTC)

The article says that it is merely "in the works" and also states that it hasn't been officially confirmed by the BBC. Personally, I would probably wait for BBC confirmation. LauraBatham 09:19, November 22, 2019 (UTC)
Chibnall said it himself and personally I think that is good enough. --DCLM 15:02, November 22, 2019 (UTC)
Gotta agree with User:LauraBatham, if it's just the director, it isn't worth doing yet. More importantly, no resolution can be reached on this board; no admin is required to come here if they want to avoid spoilers so a decision can't be reached here. Shambala108 15:05, November 22, 2019 (UTC)
I think making pages for future seasons really only has a purpose when we have anything to say about said seasons. I think we should make a note somewhere that it has been announced, and surely that factoid should be on the page come a year-or-so. But just "Series 13 is a season that is going to be made in the future" isn't really much of a page. OS25🤙☎️ 18:32, November 22, 2019 (UTC)
My entry wasn't made for a decision to be reached here. It was made just so that people could come here to see it and make up their mind elsewhere on the Wikia. But I can add the link about the proof to the "13" bit in S12 infobox if that works. --DCLM 09:15, November 24, 2019 (UTC)
On second thought, that'll be spoilery when S12 is out. However we also have Maxine Alderton written up as "core writer" of S13, so we do know quite a bit already about Series 13. --DCLM 10:26, November 24, 2019 (UTC)
I'd at most would like to know from an admin whether this can be done or not. Shambala108 has offered an opinion on it, but had no known knowledge of any rules about this (as said on talk pages). --DCLM 12:50, November 29, 2019 (UTC)

Whittaker confirms return. https://vocal.media/futurism/jodie-whittaker-confirms-return-for-series-13-as-work-on-the-next-doctor-who-series-begins --DCLM 07:45, December 9, 2019 (UTC)

User:Shambala108, I am unsure what your point is. It's theoretically possible that no solution may be reached here, if not a single admin wanted to come to the Howling for fear of spoilers. But your sheer presence proves that we've got at least one admin (you) who is willing to come here, so why couldn't you (or another admin who, like yourself, would be okay with popping by) close the thread? --Scrooge MacDuck 12:02, December 9, 2019 (UTC)
I just want to know if the page can be created when we now have 3 different sources (4 if we count the HBO-order deal) stating that it's existing now, or if we have to wait until series 12 is finished. Shambala108, you yourself stated you didn't know of any rules on that matter, when I asked you, but you're the only admin, apparently, willing to come here. I have asked other admins, being as subtle as I can, but haven't been responded to on the matter, and I can't start a board discussion on it either, because spoilers. --DCLM 23:34, December 9, 2019 (UTC)
In any case, when it gets created, we can now state how long ago it was first announced. --DCLM 10:07, December 13, 2019 (UTC)
Graham is returning: https://twitter.com/ruther2/status/1208480322557480960?s=21 --DCLM 20:56, December 21, 2019 (UTC)
And Jodie is back too: https://inews.co.uk/culture/television/doctor-who-jodie-whittaker-chris-chibnall-interview-new-series-1350321 --DCLM 13:29, December 28, 2019 (UTC)
Now Whittaker has spoken publicly about her return in Series 13. Unless the rule is to not create a new series page until the current one ends, I'd personally say it's fair game by now to create it. https://ew.com/tv/2020/01/22/jodie-whittaker-doctor-who-3/ --DCLM 08:43, January 23, 2020 (UTC)

For now filming is scheduled for September: https://cultbox.co.uk/news/doctor-who-series-13-filming-begins-in-september --DCLM 12:54, February 15, 2020 (UTC)

Stories

As The Howling wouldn’t let me create a new thread, I’ll have to reopen this one:

Given the knowledge we now have about how the Series 13 episodes are planned out, with it being one whole story, how do we go about adding it onto the List of Doctor Who television stories and indeed create the page(s) for the story, given that it’s one big multi-parter (at least the regular series)? Essentially it would have to be created the same way the Classic stories are set up on this Wiki, however I can almost guarantee that there will be fans ready to create it as soon as episode 1 releases. The Classic stories were already released in full back when this wiki was first made. —-Danniesen 12:39, 30 July 2021 (UTC)

I don't think this is as much of an issue as you think it is. There is ample precedent for creating serialised stories of which only the first part(s) have been released. We had this situation just last season with Spyfall Parts 1 and 2! And it's a constant occurrence with comic stories.
That being said, let's also not be too hasty about whether S13 will be a single story page or not. Just because it's ultimately "one big story" doesn't mean we can't consider it several stories amounting to a story arc — after all, we don't have a single page for all of The Trial of a Time LordScrooge MacDuck 13:24, 30 July 2021 (UTC)
