prose stub

Introduction was the first piece of prose in the anthology Short Trips: The Muses, published by Big Finish Productions. It consisted of an extract from Hesiod's Theogony, as translated by Hugh G. Evelyn-White.

Summary[[edit] | [edit source]]

The Muses, nine daughters of Zeus, dwell on Olympus. The greatest of the sisters is Calliope. The Muses honour certain mortal men, to whom they give the gift of wisdom, charisma and storytelling ability. These chosen servants of the Muses walk the mortal world, solving conflicts using their words, and their songs can banish the sorrows of other men, making them think instead of the blessed gods of Olympus.
