Invictus

From Tardis Wiki, the free Doctor Who reference

Invictus was the name used by a minister for the original strain of Good Thinking. (AUDIO: "Invasion: Kill")

Effects[[edit] | [edit source]]

The virus was intended to scan the infected's mind and report back using radio waves, the intended targets being communists. (AUDIO: "Prodromal: Love") However, it instead made the infected itch and kill their loved ones before dying themselves. (AUDIO: "Incubation: Know") The memories of the infected were transmitted to the Data Core. (AUDIO: "Invasion: Kill")

History[[edit] | [edit source]]

Invictus was engineered by the United States in 1955 using nanotechnology and a biological component supplied by Norton Folgate on the orders of the highest British authority.

It was tested on inmates on death row but spread to others, resulting in Norton burning all of the infected alive, as well as Jack Harkness, who tried to save them. Although it was believed destroyed, Heights Pharmaceuticals retained a sample (AUDIO: "Prodromal: Love") and used it to create Provictus.

A minister and Heights used Frances Godalming to infect Cardiff with the virus and offer Provictus as a vaccine. (AUDIO: "Invasion: Kill") It killed a number of people and was contracted by Jack, (AUDIO: "Incubation: Know") Gwen Cooper, (AUDIO: "Prodromal: Love") Ianto Jones and Andy Davidson. (AUDIO: "Invasion: Kill")
