The Libertarian Party was an American political party.
The Libertarians pulled their presidential candidate and endorsed Matt Nelson. The Chairman of the Libertarian Party stated:
While we have some real concerns with Matt Nelson's high-tax, high-spend economics, the fact is that on all the important social issues – the war in the Middle East, the stupid and costly War on Some Drugs, First Amendment issues – he is the most prominent major candidate in decades to take a Libertarian stance. We hope that we can persuade him to revise his economic stances, but there is no better candidate out there with a real chance of winning.
Lola Denison was an independent congresswoman with a libertarian stance on most issues who was backed by the Libertarian Party. She was considered to be part of the "sane wing" of the Libertarians, opposed to the ones who had their "brains turned to mush" by Ayn Rand. (PROSE: Head of State)
