In a parallel universe, Marcus Bertrand was a Starfleet officer who held the rank of captain and position of commanding officer of the USS Potemkin. He was a friend of Commander William Riker. When the Potemkin was captured during the Borg / Cyberman invasion of Delta IV in 2368, he was assimilated into the Borg Collective. (COMIC: Assimilation²)
