Martin was an undertaker in Shoreditch. In November 1963, he was surprised when the Seventh Doctor came to his funeral home and picked up a mysterious coffin, partly because he had been expecting "an old geezer with white hair".
While Martin was on the phone reporting to the head undertaker, the Doctor walked past him with the coffin floating behind him. Martin fainted on seeing this. (TV: Remembrance of the Daleks)
