From Tardis Wiki, the free Doctor Who reference

Meta-Archaeology, like Meta-History, was the archaeological study of meta-time.

An example of Meta-Archaelogy included the Achronis Excavations, which uncovered information about the Atlantean involvement in the Last Great Rewrite, written about in Doctor Zacharia Chróma's Crystal & Gold: A Review of the Achronis Evidence. Chróma appeared to be significantly involved in Meta-Archaelogy, also writing Auteur, Dionus, Urizen: Rule #1 As A Species-Wide Trait.
