Millennium Effect

From Tardis Wiki, the free Doctor Who reference

The Millenniun Effect was a theory which was reported by KKBE on 31 December 1999. It attempted to explain freak weather conditions which were escalating that evening, when it was observed that Bay Area tides had risen to levels that broke all records for the time of year. Flood warnings had gone out along the Napa and Russian Rivers, Hawaii experienced snowdrifts and there were reports of raining fish in San Jose. Supporters of the theory believed that the conditions were due to very slight fluctuations, which apparently only happened every thousand years, in the Earth's gravitational pull. In reality, however, the Eighth Doctor understood that this was due to the Eye of Harmony in the TARDIS opening. (PROSE: The Novel of the Film)
