Mister Crofton was the original gardener of the Braxiatel Collection.

Biography[[edit] | [edit source]]

Early life[[edit] | [edit source]]

Corporal Crofton was married to Jane and fought in a war. Whilst he was on the front lines, Jane was killed in a plasma bombardment (AUDIO: Braxiatel in Love) and he had her ashes turned into a crystal flower. (PROSE: The Crystal Flower)

When Corporal Crofton returned from the front lines, he told Jane's plant, Veronica Bland, that they had to move on. He then left his home with her and several other people and moved to the Braxiatel Collection (AUDIO: Braxiatel in Love) where he was known as "Mister Crofton" to all but Clarissa Jones, who deliberately annoyed him by calling him simply "Crofton". (PROSE: Professor Bernice Summerfield and the Doomsday Manuscript)

The Collection[[edit] | [edit source]]

Mister Crofton gave Bernice Summerfield some of his prize chrysanths whilst she was recovering from giving birth to Peter. (PROSE: Professor Bernice Summerfield and the Glass Prison)

While at the Collection, Mister Crofton planted the flower containing his wife's ashes in the centre of his garden and took great care to conceal it during the Fifth Axis Occupation. Commander Spang of the Fifth Axis found this activity suspicious, and had his men examine the flower, which destroyed it. In his anger, Mister Crofton declared that he wanted to kill every one of the Fifth Axis members. (PROSE: The Crystal Flower)

Death[[edit] | [edit source]]

Mister Crofton was killed during the Fifth Axis occupation. (AUDIO: Death and the Daleks) He was replaced as gardener by the Ice Warrior Hass. (PROSE: A Life Worth Living) The Garden of Remembrance was built at the Braxiatel Collection in his honour. (PROSE: ...Be Forgot)

Personality[[edit] | [edit source]]

A kindly, gentle man, Mister Crofton always had a few words for everyone and took a great liking to Bernice Summerfield. (PROSE: The Crystal Flower)

Appearance[[edit] | [edit source]]

Mister Crofton was a short, stocky man, usually in shirtsleeves. He had gnarled hands (PROSE: The Dead Men Diaries), thin, greying hair atop a balding face (PROSE: The Doomsday Manuscript), and deep blue eyes. (PROSE: The Crystal Flower)
