Module:Cite source/series overrides/doc

From Tardis Wiki, the free Doctor Who reference

This is the documentation page for Module:Cite source/series overrides

This page defines overides for the series text in the main "additional information" of {{cite source}} that apply globaly to all pages using {{Infobox Story SMW}}. Normally, the series text will come from the |range= paramter or, failing that, the |series= parameter. However, due to |series='s use as part of the navigation system, the text it contains is not always desirable for use in the citations. Therefore, overides can be defined for specific text that would go in this parameter, replacing it with more desirable text for the citation. To add a new overide, edit this page and go to the second to last line (the final line other than }"). Press enter and type the following:

,["text that appears in |series="] = "text to display in the citation"

Make sure to include the comma, square brackets and quotation marks. For examples of how to use this, look at the overides already added. Note that the first overide (on the second line) is supposed to omit the comma.

Note to programmers[[edit source]]

If you are familiar with programming, placing the comma at the start of the line may seem unconventional. However, this is done here to make this module easier to edit by removing the need to remember to add a comma to the end of the preceeding line.
